International Advisory Board of the University of Hradec Králové (IAB)

IAB was a part of the HR Award project that UHK entered in January 2020. The last term of office ended in 2022, and the current composition of the board is valid until 2025.

The International Advisory Board is a five-member advisory body of the Rector and the main activity of the IAB is especially to provide consulting with a focus on the following areas:

  • Support of the strategic direction of the University and fulfillment of the strategic goals of the UHK;
  • Evaluation of the quality of educational activities, in particular, the quality of doctoral studies;
  • Evaluation of the scientific and research development of the University and optimization of the internal evaluation system of the UHK as a research organization;
  • Evaluation of the system of postdoctoral students' involvement at the UHK;
  • Evaluation of the internationalisation of the University and support for the development of its international cooperation;
  • Support of the University activities in its third role;
  • Promotion of creativity, entrepreneurship, and cooperation with practice at the UHK;
  • Share good practice and experience with foreign universities.

Professor of International Strategy and Associate Dean (International) at the University of Huddersfield Business School (HBS), UK. He is responsible for the oversight of international education and research partnerships for HBS. John has personally undertaken a number of international research and education projects in the Czech Republic.

Ali Selamat

Prof. Ts. Dr. Ali Bin Selamat, PhD

Dean of Malaysia Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), an educational institute to enhance Japanese Oriented Engineering Education in Malaysia and Asia with support from the Government of Japan through the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) together with 30 Japanese University Consortium (JUC).

Hamido FujitaProf. Hamido Fujita, PhD

He is a Distinguished Professor at Iwate Prefectural University, Takizawa, Japan. He has four international patents in software systems and several research projects with Japanese industry and partners. He headed a number of projects including intelligent HCI, a project related to mental cloning for healthcare systems as an intelligent user interface between human-users and computers, and SCOPE project on virtual doctor systems for medical applications. He collaborated with several research projects in Europe, and recently he is collaborating in OLIMPIA project supported by Tuscany region on Therapeutic monitoring of Parkison disease. He has published more than 400 highly cited papers.

Henrique Herrera-ViedmaProf. Enrique Herrera-Viedma, PhD

Professor Enrique Herrera-Viedma received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Sciences, both from the University of Granada (Spain) in 1993 and 1996, respectively. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Granada, and Vice-President for Research and Knowledge Transfer, and the Director of the Quality Evaluation and Information Retrieval Research Laboratory (SECABA). His h-index is 85 and he presents more than 23000 citations in Web of Science.
