Application Form

Application Forms are available on request at study@uhk.cz as these differ according to a faculty/programme. 

Please state what programme you are interested in. 

Superlegalization

Your documents shall be submitted in accordance with legal requirements. The diploma and transcript issued abroad shall be authenticated. It verifies the document's authenticity of signatures, official stamps and seals.

Arrange a notary verified copies of your diploma and transcript and submit these for authentication instead of original documents!

There are two types of authentication:

Apostilization

Documents are obtained with apostille given by competent authorities designated by the government of a country which is a party to the Hague (Apostille) Convention.

Superlegalization

Documents are authenticated by a local superior governmental authority (usually the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Then the competent embassy of the Czech republic abroad or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic (Consular department) confirms the authenticity.

Recognition of previous university education (for applications to Master's and PhD programmes)

Under Czech law, students who have obtained their Bachelor's (or Master's) degree abroad are required to obtain an official document to say that their degree is recognised in the Czech Republic before they can register for a Master's degree program at a Czech university.

The application for recognition shall be submitted at a Czech university that has a degree program equivalent to the one that the student studied abroad.

Please provide the following documents:

  • An application form (you do not need to print it, just fill the form on your PC)
  • A notary verified copy of the student’s foreign diploma in English - superlegalized
  • A notary verified copy of an academic transcript in English - superlegalized, it must include a list of all courses completed during the bachelor's study, ETCS credits or allocated number of class hours per week for all courses in the list, grades in all courses in the list, a grading scale.

There is a fee of CZK 3,000.

Recognition of secondary school education (for applications to bachelor programmes)

Under Czech law, students who have obtained their secondary school certificates abroad are required to obtain an official document to say that their education is recognised in the Czech Republic before they can register for a Bachelor's degree program at a Czech university.

The application for recognition shall be submitted to a Regional Authority in the town where they have permanent residency.

The following documents shall be provided:

  • An application form (you do not need to print it, just fill the form on your PC)
  • A notary verified copy of the student’s foreign certificate - superlegalized
  • A notary verified copy of a transcript - superlegalized, it must include a list of all courses completed at a secondary school (minimum 11th grade finished) showing allocated number of class hours for all courses in the list, grades in all courses in the list, a grading scale.
  • A certified translation of previous documents into the Czech language
  • Other documents such as Confirmation of Residency or Power of Attorney if the student is not able to apply personally. 

The Regional Authority compares the content and scope of the studies completed in the foreign school with studies under a similar framework curriculum in the Czech Republic.

If the content and scope of the studies in the foreign school differ in part, the Regional Authority will order the applicant to take a nostrification examination.

There is a fee of CZK 1,000.
