Research
At the University of Hradec Králové, we seek answers to questions that deepen our understanding of people, society, nature, and technology. We connect research with education, respond to contemporary societal challenges, and collaborate with academic institutions, public authorities, and industry partners in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Research at UHK builds on the expertise of its individual faculties while increasingly extending beyond the boundaries of traditional disciplines. Interdisciplinary collaboration gives rise to new perspectives, methods, and solutions with tangible benefits for both the region and society at large.
UHK is Science
Science at the University of Hradec Králové takes place in laboratories, in the field, in archives, and through collaboration across disciplines and national borders. It is driven by curiosity, perseverance, and a desire to understand the world around us.

Collaboration with the Region and Industry
UHK is a major research and educational institution in the Hradec Králové Region. It works closely with regional institutions, public authorities, schools, professional organisations, and industry partners. Examples of this can be cooperation within the Hradecký IT klastr or cooperation with the Council for Development and Innovation of the Hradec Králové Region, etc.
In terms of sources of funding, the largest part of the grant activity is covered by national providers, i.e., GACR, TA CR, departmental ministries, as well as the European Union within its grant schemes and regional institutions as part of joint activities. In recent years, the business sphere within the framework of contract research has also shown a growing interest in cooperation with the UHK.
The organization and coordination of affairs related to research, science, and creative activities fall under the Science and Knowledge Transfer Office.
