The cooperation that works, UHK learns from experienced ones

Each institution develops many talents every year, but sometimes it is harder to convert their ideas into real activities. However, UHK keeps track of them and would like to transform their knowledge into necessary actions; therefore, the ongoing project "Technology Transfer Together" deals with these kinds of issues and is looking for effective solutions.

With the current project, there were several meetings held online. Finally, all partner universities could meet at the University of Granada on a Short-term Joint Employee Training C5 & Transnational Project Meeting in mid of September this year.

Rector prof. Ing. Kamil Kuča, PhD and the representatives altogether with prof. Ing. Radovan Hudák, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and his team from the Technical University of Košice visited prof. Enrique Herrera Viedma, Vice-Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer, at the University of Granada.

It was an excellent chance to share the best practice from each institution. Not to mention the transfer technology system in their home country.

A university is a knowledge holder; therefore, it is essential to know how to transfer technologies. How to develop innovations into business with proper patent law and copyright protection. More to it, there is the idea of spin-offs and how to get involved as a public institution. The pros and cons of such a company. Many questions were directed to partner universities and many answers were well received.

"The University of Hradec Králové has been developing its long-term and comprehensive position in the field of technology transfer. Networking with partner universities brings great benefits not only for applied research, students but for the entire Hradec Králové region," concludes prof. Ing. Ondřej Krejcar, PhD.

The meeting has been very profitable, the feedback was well noted, further steps set and we cannot wait to see the following results. Not to mention UHK appreciates the hospitality of the University of Granada in showing around such a beautiful place like, for example, Alhambra Castle.
