Connecting at dormitories

In the UHK student dormitories, buildings A to G, students can access the university computer network using either a wired or wireless connection.

Wired Connection

To connect to the university network, you need your own computer equipped with a network adapter featuring an RJ-45 port, allowing connection via an Ethernet (UTP) cable. The operating system must support network authentication using the IEEE 802.1X protocol.

The maximum connection speed is 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps), depending on the network adapter and networking equipment used.

A valid user account in the UHK domain is required to connect to the network.

To access the dormitory computer network, you must electronically accept the rules for using the network. Once the rules have been accepted, you will receive instructions for configuring the network connection in the Windows operating system.

If you are unable to configure the connection yourself or experience any technical difficulties, please contact the network administrator through the UHK IT Helpdesk.

Wireless Connection (Wi-Fi)

The eduroam wireless network is also available in student dormitories, buildings A to G, providing secure internet access.

The connection procedure is the same as in other buildings of the University of Hradec Králové. For instructions on configuring your device, please refer to the Wireless Connection – eduroam .
