Compensated broadband current shunt with inductive couplink

Faculty of Education UHK

Project Description

The aim of the project is to construct a versatile measuring shunt for large current ranges (500 A- 1 kA) and frequencies (50 - 200 kHz) which will be suitable for newly designed or existing technologies. Its unique construction will simultaneously have hardly any influence on the measured current and will be highly resistant to the external electromagnetic field. Thanks to these features, the shunt is expected to be used mainly in wireless charging systems for electric vehicles or systems for induction heating (melting). In both cases, the current ways of measurement are either difficult or technologically demanding.
