What is Office 365
Office 365 is Microsoft's online subscription-based service that exists in multiple licensing options. Office 365 Education provides free email, document storage and online editing of them, instant messaging, and web conferencing for employees, faculty staff and students.
Office365 package for employees and students includes:
- Mail services and Outlook webmail client.
Each user has a mailbox. - OneDrive storage with online access or desktop client.
Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents can be viewed and edited through a web browser. You can set sharing with other users for individual files or entire folders. OneDrive for Business is available to synchronize files between storage and local directories.
- Sharing documents within teams - Sharepoint online and Teams.
It is possible to create team-based private sites for organizational units and teams, in which members can share documents. These sites can run applications for better team communication, such as room and resource reservations, shared calendaring, comments and document approvals. It is recommended to use the Teams application for team cooperation and communication.
Multi-Factor Authentication
Why Use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
For increased security and safer login to email and Microsoft 365 Services. MFA significantly reduces the risk of data breaches by requiring more than one form of verification. This means that even if your password is compromised, an attacker will still not be able to access your account.
MFA activation is mandatory for employees based on the Rector's Decree 05/2025. (English version).
How do you start using multi-factor authentication?
The self-service activation method is described in more detail in the instructions at the end of this page.
There are the following three steps:
- Enter your preferred sign-in method at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info. We recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- We also recommend setting up one of the other available authentication methods.
- Join the MFA-activation team (using the code ivj5agi) in Microsoft Teams and wait for emails in your university inbox with more information.
Have you completed all 3 steps and the applications are now requiring verification? Excellent, your account is now more secure!
If activation is still not successful even after a longer period of time, please contact our colleagues in the Information Technology Department.
