UHK Summer Schools 2025: A Meeting Point for Global Academic Exchange

During the summer months of 2025, the University of Hradec Králové hosted a series of international summer schools across its faculties, welcoming students from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The program combined intensive academic courses with cultural experiences, offering participants a unique opportunity to develop their expertise while exploring Czech culture and academic life.

Summer School “Czech IT Out 2025” Welcomed 120 Students from Seven Countries

During July and August, the Faculty of Informatics and Management at the University of Hradec Králové hosted the international summer school Czech IT Out 2025, attended by a total of 120 students from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, and Morocco. The summer school offered an intensive academic program lasting almost an entire month. Participants completed courses in Intercultural Studies and Tourism, Marketing and Cultural Studies, and Data Science.

Summer School at the Philosophical Faculty UHK Offered Czech Language Courses and an Accompanying Program

The Philosophical Faculty at UHK also organized a two-week summer school intended for international students who will remain at the university in the upcoming semester. In addition to intensive Czech language instruction, participants took part in an accompanying program focused on exploring Hradec Králové and its history. The project also included an online course presenting Czech culture, history, and regional highlights in an engaging format. In 2025, the summer school was attended by 14 students from Colombia, Argentina, Ghana, Mexico, Uganda, Ukraine, and Zambia.

From Australia to Hradec Králové: A Journey to the Natural Sciences Summer School

During the summer, the Faculty of Science at UHK welcomed dozens of students from fourteen countries, including the United Kingdom, Greece, Canada, and Australia. Over four weeks, the summer school offered three specialized programs – Mathematical Physics, Applied Biology, and Toxicology. Students could choose whether to explore topics such as quantum graphs, black holes, or Yang–Mills theory, conduct field research on cells, plants, and ecosystems, or gain insight into the world of toxic substances. The program also included joint excursions, for example, to an observatory, the Josefov Fortress, and Dvůr Králové Zoo.

Summer School at the Faculty of Education Welcomed Students from Taiwan and South Korea

During July and August, the Faculty of Education at UHK launched the Summer School program “Innovative Minds – Czech Language, Art and Technology 2025.” The faculty hosted 18 students from Taiwan and South Korea. Participants came to deepen their knowledge of Czech, explore Czech culture, and gain initial experience in the fields of art and technology. The program included workshops, thematic activities, and excursions during which students discovered various regions of the Czech Republic.

The University of Hradec Králové is already preparing the next edition of its summer schools for 2026. Prospective participants are invited to take part in a diverse portfolio of programs spanning IT, natural sciences, humanities, and education. The summer schools offer not only high-quality academic instruction but also an opportunity to engage with an international community and experience the Czech Republic firsthand.
