International Advisory Board Discussed the Strategic Development of the University of Hradec Králové

Author: Lenka Karalová

The University of Hradec Králové hosted a meeting of its International Advisory Board (IAB) from 13 to 15 May 2026. The three-day programme provided a platform for discussions on the university’s strategic direction, research development, and international collaboration.

Members of the IAB and representatives of the university management engaged in an intensive working programme focused on key areas of UHK’s development. During their visit, the Board members also met with representatives of all 4 faculties and gained insight into their activities and priorities in both education and research.

The main part of the programme consisted of several thematic sessions held at the Rector’s Office. Discussions focused on the update of the UHK Strategy in light of the 2025 International Evaluation Board Report and recommendations, the Strategy of the research institution, and international cooperation and strategic partnerships.

I am very pleased that UHK had the opportunity to discuss current university issues with members of our International Advisory Board. Universities abroad are addressing many similar topics, and therefore the insights and perspectives of our international experts are extremely valuable to us. I would like to thank all members for sharing their experience and recommendations.

Jan Kříž

The Rector of UHK

It was good for the new members of the IAB to meet each other face to face for the first time. We worked well together in responding to the important issues which UHK’s management asked us to consider. We hope that the management finds our insights to be helpful as they consider the strategic development of the University of Hradec Kralove.

Prof John R. Anchor

Chair of the International Advisory Board

The programme also included informal networking with the university and faculty management, as well as a guided tour of the historic city centre of Hradec Králové, allowing guests to experience both the city and the university environment. The International Advisory Board meeting represents an important element of UHK’s strategic governance, providing valuable feedback from international experts and contributing to the university’s continued development in a global context.
