"Don't overthink it, just go!" was the motto of this year’s University International Day 2025

Once again, the university-wide event promoting student mobility took place, giving UHK students the opportunity to explore a wide range of study abroad options. As is tradition, the event was held in the autumn and featured not only faculty booths but also stands hosted by our partners, such as Europe Direct, Eurocentrum, DAAD, and ESN Hradec Králové.

UID1The programme was hosted by student moderators, Vilém and Sára. The event featuredquiz with travel-themed prize packs for the winners, a relaxing zone with an interactive map, and, most importantly, student booths. Both Czech students who had studied abroad and international students currently at UHK had the opportunity to share their mobility experiences. Together, they represented more than 20 countries.

University International Day (UID) once again proved to bekey event in UHK’s internationalization efforts. It fosters the university’s openness, encourages students to think globally, and strengthens the sense of student community.

The goal is to show students that gaining international experience during their studies isvaluable asset for both their academic and professional paths, and is an essential part of higher education. It isunique opportunity that brings lifelong benefits.

This year’s edition was also influenced by the important 800th anniversary of the City of Hradec Králové. The slogan of the year-long celebrations, "Hradec is full of Kings and Queens", reminds us that the city’s history is not only in the past; today’s kings and queens are among us. The event resonated beautifully with this message and highlighted that Hradec is an open, cosmopolitan city, ready to engage in dialogue with the world.

UID remains a vital part of the university calendar. Internationally oriented events raise awareness about mobility opportunities, inspire students to discover the world and themselves, and reinforce the university’s openness.

We look forward to seeing you at the next edition in autumn 2026!
