FIM GRADUATION CEREMONIES

Graduation ceremonies at the University of Hradec Králové are formal academic events during which academic degrees are conferred and documents confirming the successful completion of studies are awarded. The official documents confirming successful completion of studies by passing the Final State Examination are the university diploma and the Diploma Supplement. The ceremony also includes the graduation oath. The graduation ceremonies take place at the University of Hradec Králové in the Assembly Hall of the Common Education Building – Building A (Hradecká 1227, Hradec Králové).

 

Graduates completing their studies in the academic year 2026/2027 may attend their graduation ceremonies on 22 and 23 June 2027. The dates of the graduation ceremonies are published in the Academic Year Schedule.  The exact date and time of your graduation ceremony will be determined according to the number of graduates in each study programme, the time available for the ceremonies and the capacity of the Assembly Hall. For organisational reasons, it is not possible to change the date or time individually, and requests to change or exchange ceremony dates cannot be accepted.

REGISTRATION FOR THE GRADUATION CEREMONIES

  • Graduates completing their studies in September 2026 and January 2027 must submit the GRADUATION CEREMONY REGISTRATION FORM by 30 April 2027.
  • Graduates completing their studies in May or June 2027 do not need to submit an application; they will be invited automatically.

INVITATION AND ORGANISATIONAL INFORMATION

Graduates will receive an electronic invitation from the Dean with detailed information about their graduation ceremony, including:

Please wear appropriate formal clothing and footwear for the ceremony. This also applies to invited guests. There is no limit on the number of guests you may invite. The ceremony will be livestreamed online, and the recording will be available for approximately 14 days afterwards. On the day of the ceremony, there will be a flower stall in the foyer of Building A, where flowers can be purchased by cash or card. FIM UHK promotional and souvenir items will also be available for purchase (cash only). There will also be a UHK Alumni Club stand.

GRADUATION CEREMONY FEE

Graduates attending the graduation ceremony are required to pay a CZK 400 fee. Please transfer the relevant amount to the Faculty’s bank account no later than 17 June 2027. Thank you.

PARKING

You can use the main university car park, Parkoviště Kampus, if there are spaces available. The car park next to the Common Education Building (Building A) operates with a barrier and pay-on-exit system. When entering the car park, take a parking ticket from the barrier. Before leaving, scan the ticket at the payment machine and pay the parking fee by card.

CLOAKROOM

Graduates and guests can leave their coats, bags, handbags and other belongings in the open cloakroom in the basement of Building A.

REGISTRATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE GRADUATION CEREMONY

  • Registration will take place in Room A205 in Building A.
  • You must arrive one hour before the start of the graduation ceremony. The exact start time will be listed in the graduation ceremony schedule.
  • If you arrive late for registration, you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
  • At registration, you must present your identity card/passport.
  • Your payment of the fee, made by the required deadline, will be checked.
  • You will sign a confirmation of receipt of your diploma on the graduate record sheet.
  • Graduates who have already received their diploma must return the diploma folder at registration.
  • Two graduates will be selected – one to read the graduation oath and the other to deliver the graduation speech.
  • A member of the Study Department staff will organise you in the order in which you will enter the ceremony. Please follow this order exactly.
  • A private rehearsal of the ceremony will take place in the Assembly Hall.
  • After the rehearsal, there will be a short break to allow you to prepare for the ceremony.

NOTICE: During the graduation ceremony, the Faculty will take photographs and make video recordings, which may be used for reporting purposes by the University of Hradec Králové, including possible publication. NON-ATTENDANCE AT THE GRADUATION CEREMONY / UNCOLLECTED DIPLOMAS

Graduates who do not attend the graduation ceremony may collect their graduation documents from the Study Department. Diplomas can be collected during office hours. Outside office hours, an appointment must be arranged in advance. Please bring your identity card/passport. In case a graduate is unable to collect the documents in person:

  • they may authorise another person to collect the documents on their behalf by means of a power of attorney (the Study Department will provide details on the required form of the power of attorney on request);
  • they may request that the documents be sent to an address the Czech Republic. The documents will be sent by registered mail, for delivery to the addressee only and with acknowledgement of receipt. A fee of CZK 200 is charged to cover the additional costs associated with issuing the diploma.
