Meet our Alumni
Choosing where to pursue a Master’s degree is not just about picking a university, it’s about choosing where your next chapter begins. But what does that journey actually look like for full-time international students? We sat down with two recent graduates to talk about career growth, campus life, and why FIM was the ultimate launchpad for their success.
Meet Farah. She’s from Lebanon. She has a Bachelor in Physics and Computer Technology. She always knew that she wanted to Master in a field related to IT and tech. That is when she found FIM.

Coming all the way from Ethiopia, Meron took a big step once she accepted a government scholarship to study at FIM. It was her first time out of her home country. Hradec Kralove then became her first love although she’s been to other cities.
Why FIM?
According to our graduates, one thing that stood out to them while studying at FIM is the support they felt from both the professors and International Office.
One of FIM’s biggest advantages is its learning environment. With smaller class sizes in the English-taught subjects, lectures feel more like collaborative workshops than massive auditoriums. Our graduates said that there are only about 7-8 students in each class and since Professors know then by name, it encouraged discussions, questions and personalized feedback.
Farah enjoyed her Economics classes which aspired her to lecture on the subject at a university in the future. Meanwhile, Meron was fully engaged in her favorite subjects such as Management, Managerial Method, and Enterprise IT.
“Eva from the International Office is the kindest and most helpful person I know. She was always there for me whenever I needed help with my studies.” Meron
Post-Graduation Success
For our graduates, a Master’s degree is more than an academic achievement; it is a launchpad for a career. Because the curriculum bridges technical fluency with strategic business acumen, FIM alumni step seamlessly into roles, such as IT Project Manager, Data Analyst, Systems Consultant, Business Intelligence Specialist, and Product Owner.
When asked about FIM being a good bridge between her studies and career, Meron answered: "Yes, it is! This degree prepared me well for my current job. I’ve been working as a Project Manager at Red Hat since a year before I graduated. Now I am leading and managing multiple Scrum teams.”
As for Farah, “Since I’ve graduated with Honors, I am excited to continue my journey here at FIM. I’ve accepted into a Ph. D in Knowledge and Information Management at FIM and I am looking forward to starting my journey in September. This will prepare me for realizing my dream to teach in a university in the future.”
Life Beyond the Classroom
Situated in a vibrant Czech city with strong connections to major IT hubs like Prague, FIM also offers direct access to a booming European tech sector. Regular career fairs, guest lectures from industry professionals, and corporate partnerships give students early exposure to top employers. Czech Republic regulations allow international graduates of public universities free access to the labor market, making the transition from student visa to employment straightforward.
Additionally, FIM provides modern facilities such as Esports room, cozy relax zone for socialization, Coursera programs and exchange opportunities to the universities across the world.
Advice from our Graduates
Stepping into a Master’s program as an international student is a major life decision. To help you navigate the leap, our alumni shared their top pieces of advice for prospective students considering the Faculty of Informatics and Management:
“For those who are deciding to study abroad, just do it. Especially, in the Czech Republic. We have a foreign friendly environment at FIM, the city is safe, and the teachers are kind. The professors helped me become a better student because they built confident in me.” Farah
“It is easy to study at FIM. The harder you study, the more you achieve. I’ve faced language barries in the beginning but now I am working in an international company fully in English. Now I call the city of Hradec Kralove my first love even though I’ve been to multiple cities around Europe just because of its charm.” Meron
