FIM - Academic Year Schedule

The academic year lasts 12 calendar months (01.09.-31.08.) and is divided into the winter and summer semesters. Each semester consists of instructions, examinations, and vacations.
The winter semester starts at the end of September and ends before Christmas, the summer semester, which starts during the second week of February, ends in May. Each semester is followed by a five-week examination period.

Apart from the public holidays, there are two major vacation periods during each academic year: Christmas vacation in December and summer vacation during July and August.
