Support for Students with Specific Needs Augustin

Augustin provides counseling and support services for students with specific/special needs. We work to create an inclusive learning environment by making appropriate adjustments to equalize study conditions for all students.

We support students with:

  • Visual, hearing, and mobility impairments,
  • Autism spectrum disorders,
  • Specific learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia),
  • Attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD),
  • Chronic somatic illnesses,
  • Mental health conditions,
  • Speech and communication disorders.

We aim to ensure that every student has equitable access to education and the necessary resources to succeed.

We balance study conditions through a range of support services, including:

  • Access to study literature – providing accessible formats of study materials, including electronically editable documents, Braille, and tactile graphics,
  • Registrar services – we recommend appropriate support options for students with specific needs to university staff,
  • Interpreting services – including sign language interpretation for students with hearing impairments,
  • Individual lessons – tailored instruction to support learning goals
  • Personal and study assistance – support with daily academic tasks, personal study organization, and compensation for the physical limitations,
  • Spatial orientation – guidance to help students navigate campus environments,
  • Overhead measures – structural and organizational adjustments to support inclusive learning,
  • Time compensation – extended time for exams and assignments where needed,
  • Technical and technological support – access to assistive technologies and the option to borrow compensatory aids.

These services ensure equal opportunities for all students and enable full participation in academic life.

Please note:
To access our services register at the Augustin Centre. Consultations are available by prior arrangement. For more complex support services, students may be required to contribute financially, depending on the level of scholarship awarded based on specific/special study needs.

If you are a student planning to participate in a study mobility program and have special needs, please ask your university’s mobility coordinator to inform our International Office about the support you require during your studies.
