Selection procedure

The University of Hradec Králové has signed up to the principles enshrined in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers in 2020. Since November 2021, we have been the holder of the European HR Award, within the framework of which we implement the principles of open and transparent selection procedures for new employees. In 2023, the UHK published its OTM-R (Open, Transparent and Merit-Based Recruitment) policy which is based on open, transparent and fair procedures for the selection and recruitment of employees.

Publication of the selection procedure

The job offer is formulated as clearly, understandably and concisely as possible. In order to reduce the administrative burden, application materials are preferred in electronic form (the specific form of delivery of the required materials is specified in the published job offer). The selection procedure for

academic and research positions (including senior positions) is published at least 30 calendar days before the closing date for applications. The published offer includes the terms and conditions, the method of submission of applications and the closing date for applications. In the case of positions other than those mentioned above, they be advertised at least 14 days before the closing date for applications.

Selection procedure

The selection procedure is typically two-round.

  1. st Round (shortlist)
During the first round, we assess the candidates on the basis of the job specification and an evaluation of the required documents submitted as set out in the published job offer. The shortlisting of candidates takes place as soon as possible after the closing date for applications. The exclusion of short-listed candidates relates solely to the evaluation criteria and requirements relevant to the position. Candidates who do not make it to the next round are informed of their non-acceptance (normally within 3 working days of the shortlisting process being completed).
  2. nd Round 2 (interview)
All applicants who meet the formal requirements for the position receive an email (or are contacted by other means depending on the available contact information) confirming that their application has been accepted for the selection procedure and are provided with further information on the recruitment process and an indicative schedule, normally within 3 working days of the shortlist being completed. The selection procedure takes place in form of an interview in person at the UHK or, in the event of limitations on the physical possibility of participation (e.g., due to distance, illness or financial burden), an interview may be conducted using means of distance communication. The invitation to the interview is sent at least 5 working days before the interview so that candidates can adequately prepare for the interview.

The selection procedures are conducted in accordance with the Code of Procedure for Selection of Academicians and Managerial Employees of the University of Hradec Králové.

Termination of the selection procedure

Candidates should be informed of the results of the selection procedure as soon as possible after the end of the selection procedure, but normally no later than 30 calendar days from the date of the selection procedure. The results of the selection procedure are communicated to the candidates by e-mail or, where appropriate, by the contact means they have indicated (telephone, distance communication, etc.).

Feedback

Feedback to unsuccessful applicants will be provided upon request from the applicants.

As a responsible employer, we ensure that all candidates are given equal opportunity in the selection procedure, minimizing the risk of all possible forms of discrimination and unequal access
