Graduate of FIM
In connection with the completion of studies, all obligations to the university must be settled. This includes returning all borrowed books to the University Library, settling any borrowed equipment or IT devices from departments or offices, returning sports equipment, study materials, and any borrowed items from dormitories, storage, or other university facilities. If you participated in student organizations, the faculty or university senate, committees, associations, or university projects during your studies, you must notify them of your graduation. Also, do not forget to settle any outstanding payments, such as fees for extended study.
Graduates are issued official documents confirming the completion of their studies: the diploma and the diploma supplement. These documents are prepared collectively after the final state examinations have been completed across all departments during the given examination period. The documents are issued by the Study Department, and every effort is made to prepare and distribute them to graduates as soon as possible. However, this process cannot be completed overnight and requires some time. The documents must be signed by the Dean and the Rector. Graduates will receive a notification to collect their diploma by email and also by letter. For this reason, it is recommended to check and, if necessary, update your contact details in IS/STAG: My Study – My Personal Data – Edit Student Personal Data – Mailing Address and Other Contacts.
The date of diploma issuance depends on when the student completed their studies:
Graduates in September
Graduates who complete their studies in September will receive a notification to collect their diploma approximately in mid-October. The notification will invite them to collect their graduation documents from the Study Department. It will also include information about the possibility of having the documents sent by post or authorizing another person to collect them, and an invitation to participate in the graduation ceremony based on submitting the graduation ceremony application. Graduates will also receive a confirmation of the total duration of their studies.
Graduates in January
Graduates who complete their studies in January (or December 2024) will receive a notification to collect their diploma approximately in mid-February. The notification will invite them to collect their graduation documents from the Study Department. It will also include information about the possibility of having the documents sent by post or authorizing another person to collect them. Graduates will also be offered the opportunity to participate in the graduation ceremony based on submitting the graduation ceremony application. Additionally, they will receive a confirmation of the total duration of their studies.
Graduates in May – June
Graduates from the summer semester are automatically invited to the graduation ceremony (no registration is required). They can expect to receive the invitation approximately one week before the ceremony. At the same time, they will be informed about how to collect their graduation documents if they are unable to attend the ceremony. They will also receive a confirmation of the total duration of their studies.
Our graduates are offered free services from the UHK Career Centre for a period of two years after completing their studies.
