What are the current measures in the UHK campus?

Starting from 13 March 2022, the obligation to wear respiratory protective equipment in all indoor areas of UHK buildings ceases to apply. If you feel unwell and suspectdisease, do not hesitate to use a face mask/respirator. 

 

Can I apply for or go for a study stay or internship abroad?

Work and study stay abroad realized by staff or students of the University Hradec Králové can be carried out within the conditions set by the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the diplomatic missions of the receiving countries. When travelling abroad, it is necessary to get information in advance about the conditions of entry, restrictions and prevention measures of the given country. The conditions of entry to individual countries are continuously updated on the webpage of the diplomatic missions in the Czech Republic.

 

Who can I contact if I do not feel emotionally well or I need advice on other matters related to covid-19?

Psychological support

Information, Counselling and Career centre ensures psychological and therapeutical services, support for students with special needs and career counselling. These services are free of charge for students and graduates within 2 years after finishing their studies. At the time, when the social situation requires following the rules for reducing personal contact between people, these services are provided online through the application Skype or Teams. Below you can find the contact for the workers of the centre with whom you can arrange an online consultation.

Zdeňka is the head of the department and a contact person at the same time. She will advise whom you can contact if you are unsure who could help you.

Psychological - therapeutical services are provided by internal and external colleagues who can help you in case of problems:

  • adaptation to university studies, depression and other mental issues
  • relationship problems
  • long-term stress and disproportionate burden,
  • processing of trauma and difficult life events

What electronic sources I can use if I cannot go to the library?

The National Library within the project of the National Digital Library made available more than 206 000 monographs and periodicals for free. The collection of documents contains publications published in the Czech Republic since 1989 and also selected works that have been protected by copyright so far, works not available on the market and documents which have come into the public domain. Using just one source enables the users to access digitalized multi-disciplinary monographs and periodicals with the exception of works protected by copyright (it is marked as locked). The full texts are meant for reading, it is not possible to make digital or printed copies. You can access the National Digital Library from HERE, after filling in that you agree with the conditions of use, you can log in through login with your library account/eduID, select the University of Hradec Kralove and log in using your username and password that you use for the university systems. You can filter the works that are not available on the market in the digital library interface using the facet of availability.

 

What to do upon arrival to the Czech Republic?

It is essential to take precautions before arrival and to follow the general rules to avoid infection.

At the same time, students are obliged to find out in advance the conditions of entry into each transfer country

I was ordered a quarantine, can I work?

Ordering a quarantine is an excused absence of an employee. It is possible to have a home office (supposed that the employee signed an agreement on home office). If the employee has a home office, he/ she should get remuneration for the realized work but he/she is not entitled to get the benefit – the salary compensation during the quarantine.

 

What are the rules for private trips to countries with higher risk?

As of 9 April 2022, the protective measures regarding the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic in relation to the epidemic of covid-19 have been suspended.  

In case you visit a country other than the Czech Republic, check the conditions of entry and measures on the web pages of the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Interior of that country.
