Since Nov 1, 2021, there are new restrictions due to the growth of the number of COVID-positive people in the Czech Republic.

All adults pay for their RT-PCR or RAT antigen tests done at laboratories. Only exceptions include tests ordered by GP (in case of suspicion of COVID), those with health contraindications, or those in the process of vaccination.

  • The results of PCR tests are valid only for 72 hours. (cost CZK 814,-/per test)

  • The results of antigen tests are valid only for 24 hours. (cost CZK 200,-/per test)

  • Respiratory masks shall be worn in inside premises everywhere (especially when you can not keep a distance of 1,5 meters minimum).

  • The time of quarantine changes from 14 days to 7 days for those without symptoms of COVID and after a result of PCR test is negative.

  • Upon entering restaurants, they are obliged to check if their customers have the confirmation of valid vaccination, have valid negative results of laboratory tests, or are within the 180 days after having undergone COVID, that is laboratory-confirmed. Other services can do so as well.

The international students accommodated at the dormitories - those who can not undergo vaccination due to health issues or the vaccination from their home country is not recognized in the Czech Rep. - can go for self-testing that is available on Monday mornings (in the piano room, basement of the entrance G), the results of this testing entitle the students ONLY to enter the dormitories in the following week.

It is highly recommended to all international students to go for vaccination in the Czech Republic.

  1. The insurance PVZP Exclusive for foreigners from the so-called 3rd countries should cover the costs of vaccination, more details here.

  2. The health insurance of foreigners from the EU should cover the costs of vaccination too.

The cost for one dose of vaccination is CZK 810,- maximum. Details of how foreigners can register for vaccination are available here. The vaccination center is across the street from the UHK campus in the University Hospital Hradec Králové.

Foreigners with a vaccination not recognized in the Czech Republic might consider going for the 3rd dose of vaccination in the Czech Republic.
All citizens who are not vaccinated might face complications upon entering services, shops, cultural or sports events, and other limiting restrictions.

Fee: covered by UHK

How: you will receive a self-testing set (instructions below)

The testing should take under 5 minutes, after you finish, please leave the room, come back after 15 minutes for the certificate.
