Mgr. Kateřina Cidlinská, Ph.D.

Katerina is an alumnus of FSV UK and a researcher in the field of sociology, higher education studies and gender studies. Her research topics are working conditions in academia, academic careers, exits from academic career, gender inequalities in academia and professional identities.
She founded and coordinated mentoring program for early-career researchers, presided European network of mentoring programs in academia EUMENT‑NET and Czech Ph.D. Students Association ČAD.

Radka Pittnerova has worked in the area of international research collaboration since 2002. Apart from consulting topics related to project writing, management and finances, she has focused her professional interest, including doctoral studies, on HR in research.
She has been a coordinator or a partner of several projects financed both from national and EU resources. She consults and teaches for several universities across the country.

Mgr. Lukáš Vízek, Ph.D.

Lukáš Vízek works at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Hradec Králové. He educates pre-service mathematics teachers at the level of secondary school.
In his research, he focuses on geometry education. He identifies ways to develop students’ conceptual and procedural understanding and their flexibility in solving geometric problems. His work includes experimental teaching of selected mathematical topics, collaboration with teachers at schools and with colleagues at Czech and foreign universities.
Thanks to a Fulbright-Masaryk scholarship, Lukáš Vízek was awarded a research fellowship at Harvard University in the United States of America.
He works as the vice-chairman of the Academic Senate of University of the Hradec Králové and chairman of Ethics Committee of the University of Hradec Králové.

Dr. Orcan Alpar, Ph.D. M.Sc.

Dr. Alpar received the B.Sc. degree in Systems and Industrial Engineering from Yeditepe University, Turkey, M.Sc. degree in Systems and Control Engineering from Boğaziçi University, Turkey and Ph.D. degree in Quantitative Methods from Istanbul University, Turkey, in 2001, 2006 and 2012 respectively. He was a postdoc researcher at Metropolitan University in Belgrade/Serbia in 2013 and studied on Intelligent Transport Systems. He also had 7 years of job experience in Arkas Holding SA, Turkey, as an IT Consultant from 2001 to 2008.
He is currently a visiting professor in Center for Basic and Applied Research, Faculty of Informatics and Management at University of Hradec Králové and in Biomedical Research Center at Faculty Hospital Hradec Králové, Czech Republic.
His current research interests include Biometrics, Biomedicine, Chaos Theory, Nonlinear Dynamics, Image and Video Processing, Signal Processing, Intelligent Systems and Medical Image Analysis.

prof. Ing. Ondřej Krejcar, Ph.D.

A full professor in systems engineering and informatics at the University of Hradec Králové, Faculty of Informatics and Management, Center for Basic and Applied Research, Czech Republic; and Research Fellow at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, University Technology Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2008 he received his Ph.D. title in technical cybernetics at the Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.
He is currently a Vice-Rector for science and creative activities at the University of Hradec Králové since June 2020. At present, he is also a director of the Center for Basic and Applied Research at the University of Hradec Králové. At the University of Hradec Králové, he is a guarantor of the doctoral study program in Applied Informatics, where he is focusing on lecturing on Smart Approaches to the Development of Information Systems and Applications in Ubiquitous Computing Environments.

Ing. Pavla Matulová, Ph.D. et Ph.D.

A graduate of the BUT Faculty of Civil Engineering in Brno, followed by a doctoral study in the field of materials engineering and informatics and management.
For several years she worked in science and research in the field of development of new building materials and components. She worked at the South Moravian Innovation Center (JIC) for 10 years, where she specialized in active support of innovation potential in developed companies. It focuses on technological, social and environmental innovation, public service applications, demand stimulation, networking and open innovation through smart specialization and the promotion of technical and applied research.
She has knowledge of the innovation and research environment of the Czech Republic and abroad. It deals with the evaluation of research projects depending on the degree of applicability in technology transfer, negotiations with the application sphere on the possibilities of using the results of science and research, including an analysis of the company’s innovation potential. Consulting and advisory activities in the field of grant consulting. She works in the field of
consulting and strategy for intellectual property protection.
She is currently focusing on projects related to cultural and historical heritage.

Ing. Kateřina Šolcová, Ph.D.

Katerina completed her studies in Biochemistry at the University of Chemical Technology in Prague and obtained her Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of
Basel in Switzerland. With over a decade of academic experience, she specialized in RNA-binding proteins, RNA modification, and its regulation, expanding her expertise in this field.
In 2019, Katerina joined IOCB Tech, where she pitched into technology transfer. Her primary focus has been project management and business development, specifically concerning various commercially promising discoveries in medicinal chemistry discovered at IOCB.
Her ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between scientific advancements and tangible patient benefits by facilitating connections between academia, investors, and pharmaceutical companies.
Currently, Katerina serves as a member of the business analytical team at CUIP and as a consultant for the Viennese incubator, Danube Labs. Her role involves the analysis and business development of discoveries, inventions, and research originating from Charles University. Her areas of interest revolve around life sciences, healthcare, biochemistry, and biology.

Mgr. Matyáš Strnad

Matyáš is a doctoral student in Political Science – Latin American Studies at the Department of Political Science, Philosophical Faculty UHK, and International Marketing Specialist at the UHK Publicity and Communication Department. He is a specialist in electoral participation, its determinants and differences at particular levels (direct democracy institutions, elections to representative bodies at the national/local level, etc.) and Latin American countries.
He is currently researching the impact of urbanization on political participation in the largest Latin American cities. Thanks to his employment at UHK, he also gained expertise in promoting the outputs of scientific and creative activities, especially concerning external audiences through social networks and traditional media.
Recently, he participated in the international conference EUPRIO with the subtitle “Science Communication: how to engage nowadays”.
