The University of Hradec Králové (UHK) is hosting a transformative workshop led by Dr. Darla Deardorff, an internationally recognized expert in intercultural competence and international education. As the chairholder of the UNESCO Chair on Intercultural Competences at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, Dr. Deardorff has worked extensively to foster cross-cultural understanding and provide professionals with the tools to navigate global interactions. She is also a research fellow at Duke University and has dedicated her career to building bridges between cultures.

A Legacy of Intercultural Excellence
Dr. Deardorff has spent over three decades in international education, serving in prominent roles such as Executive Director/CEO of the Association of International Education Administrators for 19 years and as the Founding President of the World Council on Intercultural and Global Competence.
She has held positions at North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina, Harvard's Global Education Think Tank, the Summer Institute of Intercultural Communication, Shanghai International Studies University (China), Nelson Mandela University (South Africa), Meiji University (Japan), and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. Her extensive career has positioned her as a leading voice in advancing international education and cultural competence.
Dr. Deardorff has also published widely, contributing over 80 articles and book chapters, along with 14 books, including:
