This complete syllabus for the master’s programme “Project Manager in Archaeological Heritage” prepares heritage professionals to work across disciplines and sectors. The curriculum integrates archaeology, history, art history, social sciences, IT, engineering, natural sciences, and business management with hands-on training through fieldwork, laboratory exercises, traineeships, and a master thesis, while also developing essential skills such as communication, strategic thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving. It was tested and refined through four participatory workshops with students from diverse backgrounds, and feedback from teachers, external experts was incorporated to strengthen the programme. The result is a unique transdisciplinary and transnational master’s programme, ready for institutional approval, accreditation, and future initiatives, including potential Erasmus Mundus collaborations.

TRARCHER Online Platform

The TRARCHER digital learning platform offers an innovative solution for teaching archaeology across the full workflow—from field prospection and excavation to laboratory processing and interpretation of material culture—at a distance. By combining video demonstrations, interactive 3D models, and a structured virtual environment, the platform enables learners to engage with practical processes, develop hands-on skills, and understand how methodological choices affect documentation and analysis. It supports guided sequences reflecting the archaeological workflow as well as selective self-directed learning, allowing flexible, differentiated study suitable for blended, remote, or supplementary training. Tested and refined through the project’s activities, the platform provides a sustainable and transferable resource that strengthens digital literacy in heritage education and supports long-term curricular innovation across partner institutions and beyond.
