FAQ

A student who wishes to take the state final examinations (hereinafter referred to as SZZ) must apply for the completion of studies within the deadline specified by the Schedule of the Academic Year. The application for completion of the studies shall be submitted on the form available to be downloaded at the pages of the Study Department in the tab Study - Department of Student Affairs - Documents and forms - Application for SZZ 2019-2020 (the form is identical for the registration for the state exams). The student will also submit the Enrolment Sheet A - Summary of Passed Exams together with the document.

The student may  complete his/her studies and postpone the registration for the final state exam. The final state exam or its final part must be successfully taken within two years from the completion of studies (for this purpose the date of completion of studies being the last day of the academic year, in which the studies were completed, the interruption of studies does not extend this period).

Even after completing the studies, the student is still a student of the UHK and has the status of a student and the time of his/her studies still runs), which may have an impact on a possible study fee (more detailed in the UHK Statute).

If a student decides to terminate (to drop out) his/her studies, he/she shall notify the Study Department of FF in writing using a form available to be downloaded at the Study Department pages in the tab Study – Department of Student Affairs - Documents and forms – Notice of Dropping out of Studies. The studies will be terminated on the day the request is delivered. The Study Department will not issue any decision to the student; it will only provide him/her with a summary of passed exams and certificate of the duration of studies at the FF if requested (it is possible to choose the application on the given form).

The student does not ask for the prolongation of the studies in writing, the student only enrols in the next academic year during the so-called “self-enrolment” provided he/she fulfils the conditions for promotion to the next year. A prolongation of the studies may be accompanied by fees for longer period of the studies (for more details see the UHK Statute).

The application for interruption of the studies shall be submitted in writing using the form available to be downloaded at the Study Department pages in the tab Study – Department of Student Affairs - Documents and forms – Application. The exact time of interruption (from date to date) shall be stated in the text, usually from the first day of the month to the last day of the month; for students, who are still studying the studies are usually interrupted for whole semesters (max. 2 years in total) for students waiting for SZZ the studies may be repeatedly interrupted even for a shorter period  of time. It is also possible to interrupt the studies repeatedly. After the interruption period is over , it is necessary to enrol again in the studies no later than 10 days after the deadline, to which the studies were interrupted (see Art. 19 (7) of the UHK Study and Examination Rules), otherwise the studies will be terminated. Registration for studies can be made in person, in writing or by post. The Study Department does not publish any decision to re-enrol for studies after this registration. A student does not have student status during the interruption of his/her studies.

A student submits the application form, which is available to be downloaded at the Study Department (SO) pages in the tab Study – Department of Student Affairs - Documents and forms - Application with brief justification, proof of payment of a fee of CZK 500 (the price is for the application regardless of the number of recognized subjects), and attaches the application with the written subjects - to be downloaded at Study – Department of Student Affairs - Documents and forms – Application for Recognition of Subjects on the Basis of the Previous Studies; this application must be submitted to individual teachers together with proof of fulfilment of the subjects and their syllabus. The application with the abovementioned annexes shall be delivered to the Study Department.

Two checks are made in the first year of the studies; the first is carried out on the last day of the exam period in the winter semester, by this date the student must obtain 15 credits. The second check is made on the last day of the academic year, i.e. on August 31; by that date the student must obtain a total of at least 40 credits (i.e. obtain minimum 30 additional credits from the end of the winter exam period). In higher years, the number of obtained credits is calculated as the sum of all credits earned since the beginning of the studies. Thus it is necessary to obtain at least 80 credits from the beginning of the studies, at least120 credits from the beginning of the studies to complete the second year of studies, at least 120 credits from the beginning of the studies to complete the third year of studies, etc. - see Article 16 of the UHK Study and Examination Rules. Attention, this is the minimum required number to be promoted to the next year, it is recommended to earn 60 credits per year! In addition to these credit conditions, a student who has enrolled in a compulsory subject for the second time and failed to pass it, cannot be promoted to the next academic year.

The student will print the certificate of studies from the IS/STAG system My Studies - Progress of Studies - Form for Printing the Certificate of Studies and have it confirmed during the office hours at the Study Department of the FF. The Study Department prints the certificate of studies only to graduates who no longer have access to IS/STAG!!! Students' requests to scan the certificate to an email attachment, or to send it by post will not be accepted by the Study Department with the exception of students on a mobility abroad organized by FF UHK.

Students submit all applications on the appropriate form only in writing (in person or by mail) through the Study Department. The Study Department does not accept applications sent electronically (with the exception of students on a mobility abroad organized by FF UHK).
