Program Description

Solo Singing Focused on Education is a bachelor degree study programme, organized in the full-time form of study.

Students acquire knowledge in music theory (history of music, music theory, harmony and polyphony, music forms, composition analysis, theory of musc instrurments, music for children, computer music, music pedagogy, music sociology, music psychology), theoretical basis of solo interpretation, knowledge in history and literature of singing, and practical experience with interpreting the repertoire of various style periods.

Previous Education/Experience

The applicant should have developed music abilities such as intonation, sense of rhythm, musical memory, tonal feeling.

Knowledge of the elementary music theory and the advanced music abilities.

The applicant must have high level of performing in solo singing.

Career Opportunities

Graduates are prepared to study a Master's degree program in music performance or music education Teaching at Basic Art Schools - Playing a Musical Instrument and Solo Singing.

Graduates can find employment in cultural awareness projects, artistic activities, and religious organisations

Graduates are prepared for studying the Master's study degree programme “Teaching at Basic Art Schools-Playing a Musical Instrument and Solo Singing ”.

Admission Requirements

  • an application form
  • a verified copy of your secondary school leaving certificate in English *
  • a document proving the content and the scope of your previous secondary school education *
  • a document proving that the school where previous studies were obtained is recognised as a part of the educational system in the foreign country *
  • a confirmation of the language competence to study in English
  • a motivation letter showing applicant´s voice level, achievements, motivations and expectations (min. 3600 letters)
  • a performance video (min 5 min) showing the skills in the focused area, with a focus on solo singing
  • a copy of passport

* the authenticity of these documents have to be verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the foreign country and by the Czech embassy (or obtained with apostille). The documents are object to comparison to the Czech educational system.
