About Faculty
The Faculty of Education is the largest founding faculty of the University of Hradec Králové. It provides high-quality education in accredited teacher-training and non-teacher programmes and reflects the broad scope of contemporary educational sciences.
The Faculty comprises 13 academic units, covering a wide range of fields – from linguistics, physical education and sports, technical and information studies, pedagogy and psychology, to music, visual arts, non-teaching pedagogy, transcultural communication, religious and ethics education, and philology. This diversity creates a dynamic academic environment that connects disciplinary expertise with pedagogical practice.
The Faculty of Education supports the development of teaching and non-teaching helping professions, professional skills essential for intercultural contexts, lifelong learning, and scientific and artistic activity. It also offers Czech language and culture courses and summer schools, as well as educational programmes delivered through the popular University of the Third Age.
Hradec Králové has repeatedly been ranked among the best places to live in the Czech Republic. The University is located in the centre of a historic yet vibrant city with museums, galleries, theatres, sports facilities, cafés, and cultural venues. The city is surrounded by forests, lakes, cycling routes, and other natural attractions, offering a safe, healthy, and inspiring environment for study and everyday life.
