UHK is going to go to Rock for People 2023!

Date of Event: 06/08/2023 11:00–06/11/2023

The music festival of the year is approaching! Rock for People, headlined by MUSE, Slipknot, Machine Gun Kelly and The 1975, adds Alice Merton, The Warning, Ben Cristovao and more to the lineup.

Last year's sold-out Rock for People brought great success to the organizers, like inclusion among the TOP 10 central European festivals and TOP 10 promoters according to the European Festival Awards or the title Event of the Year 2022 in the Žebřík Census. The organizers are following up on that with the biggest lineup in the festival's history and promise of a unique experience.

We have doubled the festival's budget and are preparing a truly exceptional year," says festival director Michal Thomes and adds: "We managed to get world-class headliners – MUSE, Slipknot, Machine Gun Kelly and The 1975, for whom we competed with top European festivals. I am excited that we managed to elevate the 27th year. We now play A league amongst festivals.

The packed festival lineup was just recently enriched by pop queen Alice Merton, who conquered the European music charts with her debut single "No Roots" in 2016. However, the lineup is still incomplete. The organizers are adding more musical names and assembling a complete accompanying program.

Rock for People kicks off the festival season on June 8th, 2023.

One of the main pillars of the Rock for People is the support of Czechoslovak bands. In addition to already established stars on the domestic scene in the form of Tata Bojs, Wohnout, Horkýže Slíže, and Vypsaná fiXa, the festival also brings younger talented musicians. Furthermore, the organizers have prepared the Rock for People Talents competition, which will reveal two new bands playing at the festival in its finale.

Line-up

"After we announced the competition on social media, we were overwhelmed with nominations. We received over 14,000 of them," commented Michal Thomes happily. "We are extremely pleased with this interest and will continue the talent discovery competition in the coming years."

Rock for People has established itself as the leader of the domestic festival market with a unique atmosphere. It offers its visitors precisely what they are looking for – 4 days full of spontaneous fun, cultural experiences of the highest quality, and sharing of belonging, which would be hard to find elsewhere. In addition to the music program, the organizers are again preparing artistic experiences in the form of theater or dance performances, engaging debates on current topics, film screenings, or secret shows. There will be the legendary AZ quiz with Aleš Zbořil, which became a phenomenon after last year's premiere and thus earned a program slot every day this year. Fans can also look forward to LIVE sharing therapy directed by Ester Geislerová and Honza Vojtek and the theater and dance performance The Man from Malta performed by Dekkadancers.

The festival is a pioneer in the field of ecology and social responsibility. It emphasizes renewable resources – it uses a stage powered by hydrogen, solar panels, and wind. At the festival, the carbon footprint is measured, and 17 types of waste are sorted. The festival is barrier-free, and the Park 360 site plans to be energy self-sufficient by 2030.
