The Concert Chorale from the University of Findlay is a guest of the Department of Music PdF UHK

Author: Kateřina Andršová

The University of Findlay (Ohio, USA) established cooperation with the Music Department of the Faculty of Education of the University of Hradec Králové, based on which conductor and choirmaster SeaHwa Jung arrived in the spring of last year as part of the Erasmus+ program, International Credit Mobility. SeaHwa Jung prepared a repertoire with the choir and orchestra of UHK for a joint concert on May 4, 2022, in the Hussite church of priest Ambrož. Success, mutual enthusiasm, and the desire to continue resulted in a week-long "Czech tour" of the Concert Chorale – the University of Findlay led by choirmaster SeaHwa Jung, which included a several-day stay in Hradec Králové from 2/26–3/1 2023.

In a relatively short time, it was possible to connect the choir's concert activities and a program aimed at learning about the culture in Hradec Králové and its surroundings, which culminated in a joint concert by the University of Findlay Concert Chorale, the UHK Mixed Choir, and the UHK Chamber Orchestra on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in the hall of building A on the campus of the University of Hradec Králové.

PhDr. Stanislav Bohadl, CSc. for the breathtaking tour of the baroque area on Kuks, Mrs. Ivana Petrof for the unique excursion directly in the piano manufacturing factory, and student Darina Stránská, who guided our guests around Hradec Králové.
