Dear colleagues and friends,

The Department of Archaeology of the Philosophical Faculty of the University Hradec Králové and the Regional Museum and Gallery in Jičín in cooperation with the Institute of Classical archaeology of the Faculty of arts, Charles University in Prague and the National Museum in Prague and in cooperation with Czech-Slovakian Group for the Iron Age are organising the 22nd edition of the conference on Later Iron Age KELTOVÉ / THE CELTS / DIE KELTEN / 2023. The conference will take place in the Jury hall of the Chateau Jičín in Eastern Bohemia (https://1url.cz/@Celts2023) on 9th–12th May 2023. (Adress: Valdštejnovo nám. 1, 506 01 Jičín).

We are looking forward to papers and posters on Later Iron Age and related topics. The preferred languages of the conference are English and German. Contributions in Czech or Slovak have to be accompanied by a Powerpoint presentation in English. Posters will only be accepted in English. The presentations are expected to be 20 minutes long. The conference is planned for three meeting days and one day of excursion followed by a reception.

The town of Jičín offers plenty of accommodation possibilities in various price ranges. Still we recommend you to book your accommodation as soon as possible. In the case of any troubles do not hesitate to contact the organisers (see the email address below).

The conference fee (regular: 1600 CZK; for students: 750 CZK) will be paid on spot upon your arrival.

Please, send your applications (the form can be found in the attachment), including the abstract of your paper/poster in English or German (not more than 2000 characters) and preliminary information whether you plan to participate on the excursion, not later than the 31st March 2023 to the email tomas.mangel@uhk.cz.
