Call for Postdocs 2027-29

We are looking for excellent early-career researchers to join us as Postdoctoral Researchers at the Faculty of Education, University of Hradec Králové, within the 2027-2029 Institutional Support Programme.

Job description

• Conduct an independent research project in cooperation with a UHK supervisor and in line with the research areas of the Faculty of Education.
• Contribute to strengthening existing research areas and developing new research topics at UHK, with an emphasis on internationalisation and research excellence.
• Prepare high-quality research outputs, especially peer-reviewed publications indexed in Web of Science or Scopus; monographs or chapters in scholarly books.
• Participate in national or international research projects, grant preparation, research seminars, workshops and conferences.
• Submit regular activity reports and work according to the approved research plan, including clearly defined objectives, expected results and a research timetable.
• Cooperate with the relevant department, research centre and faculty research administration; limited teaching or expert activities may be agreed where appropriate and compatible with the research plan.

We require

• Ph.D. degree or an equivalent doctoral degree obtained no more than 7 years before the start of employment. The period may be extended in justified cases such as maternity or parental leave, long-term illness, care for a close relative, or other similar objective reasons.
• Doctoral degree obtained abroad or at any university in the Czech Republic other than the University of Hradec Králové. Applicants who have already held a UHK postdoctoral position in previous rounds of this competition are not eligible.
• Very good command of English, minimum B2 level.
• Relevant publication record. Publications indexed in Web of Science and/or Scopus are expected; scholarly monographs or chapters in scholarly books are also relevant.
• Experience with national or international research projects is considered an advantage, as well as experience in international scientific collaboration, a record of joint publications with foreign institutions, or the potential to participate in the preparation of future project applications.
• Clear alignment of the proposed research plan with the research areas and strategic priorities of the Faculty of Education, UHK.
• Ability to work independently, meet agreed milestones, communicate research results and cooperate in an international academic environment.

We offer

• Fixed-term employment for up to 36 months within the 2027-2029 period; workload between 0.5 and 1.0 FTE, according to the approved research plan and faculty needs.
• Place of work in the Czech Republic, at the University of Hradec Králové, Faculty of Education.
• Contractual gross monthly salary of at least CZK 42,000 for 1.0 FTE; part-time appointments are remunerated pro rata.

Required application documents

• Completed Application Form for 2027-2029 Postdoctoral Job Positions at the University of Hradec Králové, in English;
• Copy of the Ph.D. diploma or equivalent doctoral degree certificate. If the diploma is not issued in Czech, Slovak or English, an officially verified English translation is required.
• A structured CV in English, not exceeding 2 pages, in a font size of at least 11 points;
• An overview of 10 most significant scientific achievements, including the number of citations, in English;
• A research proposal in English (maximum 1,000 words);
• A timetable for the implementation of the research proposal (a free form, e.g. Gantt chart, including a description of the research plan and expected results);
• A consent of a potential supervisor from the Faculty of Education;
