EXCHANGE (=NON-ERASMUS AND OUT-OF-EUROPEAN) SEMESTER MOBILITIES IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND APPLICATIONS:

Student wishing to study at the Faculty of Education, within the Exchange programme must be first officially nominated by sending institution.          The sending institution must send nomination list.

There must be a valid Inter-institutional Agreement between the student´s home university and the UHK, Faculty of Education. Only students from these institutions can be accepted.

  

APPLICATION DEADLINES:

FOR STAY IN THE 1ST/WINTER TERM (OR FULL ACADEMIC YEAR):   15 May, 2024

FOR STAY IN THE 2ND TERM/SUMMER TERM:                                       31 October, 2024

Mandatory attachments:

A transcript of study records

(a list of modules that you have studied at your home university, with results)

1 photograph ( size of photograph: 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm, front-face passport format, in jpg or pdf file)

A copy of the student´s passport identification page 

A copy of the student´s Comprehensive Health Insurance Contract 

Declaration of the personal data provided („GDPR“ declaration)

 

1 month prior to student arrival:

Copy of the visa (if available)

Copy of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Contract (if not already provided)

 

Only the application documents sent as colour scans by e-mail will be accepted.

(if you need to send them by post, you are free to do so).

If the documents are incomplete, you will be asked to correct and complete them.

It may delay the enrolment/application process.

 

Once the student has successfully completed the application process, she/he will receive a Letter of Admission, a duly endorsed Exchange Study Plan Proposal, and the Visa application documents (Letter of Admission in Czech, Preliminary Accommodation Contract), including further instructions.

 

STUDIES

Student is obliged to choose and set up the study plan from the FoE Course Catalogue 2024/2025 and the UHK Course Catalogue 2024/25 for the respective semester (only these courses are taught in English, part of them in French, German or Russian).

The student can select whole modules and combine them with specific courses, or they can set up their study plan by selecting different courses from the  modules according to their educational background and a field of study.

Note, that the student is enrolled in the Faculty of Education, so at least 75% of the courses must be selected from the Faculty of Education´s offer.

Please, note, that exchange students must enrol in courses of a minimum of 15 ECTS, and a maximum of 30 ECTS.

 

ACCOMMODATION

We provide accommodation for the students in the UHK Palachova Halls of Residence only upon request.

The student must tick this box on the Student Application and Accommodation form and send it in on time.

The student will be accommodated in a triple room (in exceptional cases in a double room) in a two-room  apartment with shared facilities (bathroom, toilet, kitchen).

There are no single rooms available!

The rent for the room varies between 100 and 127 CZK per night, i.e. between 3000 and 3800 CZK (= 120-152 USD) per month+ refundable deposit of 2000 CZK (=80 USD).

 

We do not provide any other accommodation.

If the student prefers private accommodation, we can provide some useful links, but it is the student´s responsibility to make their own arrangements.

 

BUDDY  

All incoming students have the opportunity to “order” a buddy student, who will look after them, and help them with their first steps, such as picking them up from the airport/railway or bus station, checking into the Halls of Residence, enrolment.

Once the student is admitted, he/she will receive a link to register on the ESN buddy web platform, called ARTEMIS.

 

VISA

A student from most of non-EU or non-European countries must apply for a visa to be allowed to stay in the Czech Republic.

 

INSURANCE

The student is obliged to take out Comprehensive Health Insurance for Foreigners, valid for entry into the Czech Republic.
