International Staff Week at the Philosophical Faculty UHK Highlights Inclusion in Higher Education

The Philosophical Faculty of the University of Hradec Králové hosted an international Staff Week from 11 to 15 May, focusing on inclusion in the university environment and international mobility programmes. Representatives of partner universities from various parts of the world visited the faculty as part of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility project.

How can we create a university environment in which all students have equal opportunities regardless of their individual needs? This question was at the heart of the international Staff Week held at our faculty.

During the week, participants from Ghana, Namibia, Zambia, Uganda, Israel, and the United States took part in workshops and presentations focused on the inclusion of individuals with specific needs in both international mobility and university life in general. Participants discussed ways to support students with specific needs, the accessibility of study abroad opportunities, and how universities can foster a more open and welcoming environment for everyone.

In addition to the professional programme, the Staff Week also provided an opportunity to establish new contacts and strengthen international cooperation among partner universities. Informal meetings and exploring the region were also an important part of the programme. On Wednesday, participants visited the château in Častolovice.

The meeting at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Hradec Králové once again demonstrated that sharing experience and international cooperation can play a key role in making higher education more open and accessible.
