Fruitful cooperation with the Kochi University of Technology, Japan

It was our pleasure to Welcome prof. Koji Kotani from the Kochi University of Technology, School of Economics and Management to Hradec Králové.
This university has been our partner for long time and it is great that beside the cooperation in science, there is also cooperation in the area of exchange programs for students and academics.
Our application for a grant under the Erasmus International Credit Mobility program was successful, and thanks to this, we were able to welcome Prof. Kotani to the Faculty of Informatics and Management (FIM) under this program.
During his stay, that had lasted 10 days, he had the opportunity to meet with colleagues, give lectures and also meet students from Kochi University of Technology who have been studying at FIM within the same program in the Winter semester 2025. The program of visit was scheduled to cover as many areas as possible, including meetings with the Vice-Dean prof. Blanka Klímová and our doctoral students.
Professor Kotani also met with Assoc. prof. Pavel Bachmann (Head of the Department of Management) and Assoc. prof. Ivan Soukal (Head of the Department of Economics).

In addition, Prof. Kotani showed a strong interest in eye-tracking experiments conducted in our laboratory, where he actively discussed ongoing research and methodological approaches. He also engaged in discussions on doctoral thesis topics with PhD students, providing valuable feedback based on his international research experience. Furthermore, Prof. Kotani visited a class of the Management I course, where he shared his insights and perspectives with students, enriching the teaching with real-world and research-oriented examples.
