FIM News, International 03/27/2023

It was our pleasure to welcome Mr. Huang from Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, Taiwan.

The cooperation between these universities has been going on for a long time and during these years a lot of students have come to FIM as exchange students.

In March we welcomed Mr. Huang, College of International Culture, Education and Foreign Affairs, who spent 12 days here based on the Erasmus+ Credit Mobility Program.

Thanks to this program we can host academicians who have opportunity to meet and teach students, discuss with colleagues and exchange knowledge and experience.

In the same way, the Mr. Huang´s visit took place and he spent his time mostly at the Department of Applied Linguistics. Associated professor Ms. Blanka Klímová was the contact person and she organized a program which was extremely interesting and really busy.

Let´s  see how she describes the visit:

It was a pleasure to host Mr. Huang in our department. During his academic visit, he gave two interactive lectures for our students on Taiwanese culture and two more on the use of translation and interpretation in learning a foreign language. In addition, we discussed the possibilities of our further cooperation as well as joint research activities. He also explored Czech culture by tasting Czech delicacies, exploring medieval towns or travelling by public transport.

Mr. Huang evaluates his stay as follows:

My visit to UHK was extremely fruitful and I gained significant experience during the two week period. I would like to thank the faculty and staff as well as students at UHK for their hospitality and made me feel home. I also enjoyed teaching to UHK students and I hope they were able to learn more about my country and my specialization. The past two weeks have been a dream-like experience for me, and I will treasure my memory of Hradec Kralove and Czechia for the rest of my life.
