Bridging Continents: FIM Welcomes Academic Partner Dr. Richmond Kwesi from Ghana
International partnerships thrive on shared research, but true academic collaboration is built on lasting relationships. Following an Erasmus+ staff mobility visit to Ghana last winter by our faculty members, Jana Součková and Jaroslav Kacetl, we were delighted to welcome Dr. Richmond Kwesi to Hradec Králové last week.
Dr. Kwesi serves as Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Philosophy and Classics at the University of Ghana, as well as an Associate of Clare Hall, University of Cambridge. A recognized scholar in analytic philosophy and African philosophical thought, Dr. Kwesi previously supervised our faculty colleagues during their time at the University of Ghana.
During his stay in the Czech Republic, where he gave guest lectures at the Philosophical Faculty, Dr. Kwesi took time to reconnect with our faculty members. The visit included a walking tour showcasing the historic architecture and vibrant student life of Hradec Králové, followed by an informal evening introducing our guest to local culture and community traditions.
Visits like these demonstrate the enduring impact of international exchange programs like Erasmus+, creating bridges between institutions across continents and opening doors for future cross-faculty dialogue. We wish Dr. Kwesi safe travels and look forward to continuing our warm partnership with the University of Ghana!
