The new academic year has just begun for our exchange and full-time students!
It was our pleasure to organize the Welcome Meeting & Registration for our 69 international students. The event took place on Friday, September 18, 2026, and was opened by the Vice-Dean for International Relations, Prof. Blanka Klímová.
The event highlighted the welcoming atmosphere at the Faculty of Informatics and Management, and it was wonderful to see students arriving from countries across several continents.
Our international students come from Taiwan, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, the United States, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Romania, and Turkey. Of these, 28 students arrived from Germany, Portugal, Spain, Romania, and Turkey.
Students from Europe will study at FIM through the Erasmus+ programme. Two students from the United States and one student from Colombia are participating in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme.
We also met our full-time students that afternoon. They are enrolled in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, and we hope that their studies at the Faculty of Informatics and Management will meet their expectations.
We gave the students a presentation about the university and the faculty, together with important information about their studies. They also learned more about Hradec Králové, travelling around the Czech Republic, and other practical aspects of life in the city.
We wish all our students every success in their studies and hope they enjoy their stay in Hradec Králové!

Why did you choose Czech Republic?
Because it is very safe, friendly people, and beautiful. It is in the centre of Europe and easy to travel around Europe.
Did you already know about Czech Republic before?
Yes, one of us came here for Sumer School a year before. That makes her wants to come back.
Have you tried any Czech food yet?
I tried dumpling but the portions were too big.

What is your impression on dormitories?
There are three of us in each room and six of us in each flat. The dorm is clean. We are happy that all 3 of us from Taiwan shares the same room. (They had a problem with water splashing out when they shower.)
Are you excited to start the studies?
Yes, we are excited to improve our English. Everything is in English and it is our first time studying everything in English.
Is there a Czech city that you are looking forward to visit?
Prague because they have nice building.
