Summer school for Colombian students focused on democracy

    Summer school for Colombian students from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali has finished. First week of July was at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Hradec Králové dedicated to the summer school seminars about democracy and human rights.

    Eight Colombian students participated in seminars and lectures by few of the best Czech researchers in the field of democracy and human rights in Latin America and its history, i.e. dean of the Philosophical Faculty Pavlína Springerová or Jan Klíma. One lecture was given by a Mexican researcher Jesus Tagle. 

    Apart of lectures four trips and excursions were organized. Colombian students visited Prague, concentration camp Terezín, baroque hospitál Kuks and lookout tower Milíř in the forest nearby city of Hradec Králové. A group of trainees in archaeological research joined them.

    At the end they received certificated confirming their participation during the summer school in Czech Republic.
