About the course

Preparatory course of Czech language and specialized university training for international students

Duration:
  • One academic year (2 semesters, 33 weeks, 5 lessons a day)
  • 720 hours of Czech language
  • 70 hours of specialized training
  • Start: September 18, 2017 (students have to come approximately 10 days earlier in order to register to the course and attend an orientation week)
  • Tuition: September 18, 2017 - May 18, 2018
  • Exam period: May 21, 2018 - June 15, 2018
Winter semester:
  • September 18, 2017 - February 2, 2018
  • excluding winter holidays: December 18, 2017 - January 1, 2018
  • 18 weeks of tuition
  • Czech language only
  • 435 lessons (1 lesson = 45 minutes) 
  • 25 lessons a week
  • 5 lessons a day
Summer semester: 
  • February 5, 2018 – May 18, 2018 
  • 15 weeks of tuition
  • Czech language (20 lessons a week) + specialized university training (5 lessons a week)
  • 355 lessons (1 lesson = 45 minutes)
  • 25 lessons a week
  • 5 lessons a day
Exam period:
  • exam period: May 21, 2018 - June 15, 2018
  • student has to pass a final exam (oral and written; language skills and specialized knowledge)
  • successful students receive a certificate of passing a Preparatory course of Czech language and specialized university training for international students


Tuition: 
  • in a group of students
  • daily study - student has to attend at least 75% of lessons
Price:
  • Obligatory fee for language course and specialized university training: 80.000 CZK  
  • The price includes the assistance with visa, help with travelling from the home country, insuarance, arrangement of accommodation in dormitory or apartment, assistance with verification of documents and general consulting.
Who can apply? 

All students who have passed at least a high school education in any country of the world, i.e. students have to possess a high school final certificate (or a confirmation about finishing the high school education in a current year) or university diploma.

How can I apply? 

By filling in the registration form on UHK website - here - and sending all required documents attached (i.e. final high school/university diploma or certificate; scan of a passport; passport size photography; signed application form).

Czech language course (735 hours/year)
 
Objectives of our courses:
  1. Learning vocabulary and grammar of the Czech language is inevitable to be prepared to pass entrance examination and complete further training at the Czech universities as well as make yourself understood in real-life situations
  2. Introduction to the culture, history and socio-economic aspects of the Czech Republic helps students to get acquainted with a new country, mentality of local people and system of state organizations, institutions etc.
  3. Developing writing and speaking skills at the level students can freely express their thoughts in the framework of preferred study or research disciplines
  4. Achieving approximately the level B2 in the Czech language

Specialized university training (75 hours/year)
 
Apart from the compulsory Czech language course student has to choose from specialized training packages. Our specialized courses are designed for candidates interested in the following study areas:
 
1. Social sciences – preparatory course for those students who want to apply to study:
  • Philosophy
  • Political Sciences
  • Sociology
in the Czech language on BA or MA levels (Provided by the Philosophical faculty, University of Hradec Králové)

2. Natural sciences – preparatory course for those students who want to apply to study:
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Informatics
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
in the Czech language on BA or MA levels (Provided by the Faculty of Science, University of Hradec Králové)

3. IT and management – preparatory courses for those students who want to apply to study: 
  • Applied Informatics
  • Financial management
  • Informational Management
  • Management of Tourism
in the Czech language (Provided by the Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Králové)
