09.02. - Invitation to an exhibition! Jana Papáčková, studying the Department of Arts Culture at the Faculty of Education, University of Hradec Králové, shows her conceptual project Native Soil in Galerie P at the Department building (Pivovarské náměstí, Hradec Králové) from February 9 till March 7, 2010. The opening of the exhibition takes place on February 9, 2010 at 18,00.

08.02. - Another publication by the academic workers of the University of Hradec Králové appeared! The book Introduction to Political Science, written by a team of authors working under the supervision of Pavla Dočekalová and Kamil Švec, both teaching at the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Arts, University of Hradec Králové, covers basic themes of political science. The publication is divided into three parts: the introductory part deals with principal concepts of political science, the second part introduces democratic and non-democratic political systems, and the concluding part is devoted to the discussion of the most significant political ideologies.

01.02. - We cordially invite you to the exhibition of final works of students of the Department of Textile Design. The exhibition takes place in Galerie T (Building of Common Education in Hradecká street); the works will be displayed until February 14, 2010.

27.01. - His Excellency Vicente Espeche Gil, the Ambassador of Argentina to the Czech Republic, paid a visit to the University of Hradec Králové. The main purpose of His Excellency´s visit was to discuss thoroughly the possibilities of mutual cooperation and student exchange between the University of Hradec Králové and universities in Argentina.  These opportunities will concern primarily students of Latin American Studies at the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Arts. The University of Hradec Králové has already estabilished partnerships with several universities in Peru, Venezuela and Chile, and within the last year these contacts have been exploited for the first time. Argentina is thus the fourth country to offer a unique opportunity to study Latin American studies in the region itself.

25.01. - We proudly announce the publication of I Too Have Been to Italy..., a book written by dr. Nella Mlsová, who teaches at the Department of Czech Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education. The book deals with the reflection of Italy in the works of Czech authors. The book is divided into two parts: the first part consists of the analyses of the individual texts presented in the book, and it is followed by the anthology of the relevant texts.

25.01. - Česká spořitelna Inc., one of the major Czech banks and the general partner of the University of Hradec Králové, provided the university with extra financial support to award the best research workers of the university. The amount was shared by almost sixty research workers; twenty researchers with the most outstanding results participated in the ceremony taking place within the Scientist Day, and they received the prize from the bank director general in person.

25.01. - The Arts Culture Department of the Faculty of Education organizes a course called "Let’s Experience Art in English Language".

22.01. - We are proud to announce the publication of Namibie by Jan Klíma, Associate Professor teaching at the Department of Political Science, University of Hradec Králové. The book deals with the history of the Namibian state from pre-colonial period till the most recent times. According to the author’s words, Namibia can be seen as a colourful textbook of overcoming racial and national conflicts, and through the description of the state’s rich history he tries to explain why Namibia is nowadays a state of exceptional stability. Useful information and a bibliography included.

24.11. - DAYS OF PEDAGOGY 2010 - University of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic: Colleagues from our Partner Universities are cordially invited to participate actively in DAYS OF PEDAGOGY 2010 held from March 29^th to April 2^nd 2010 in Hradec Kralove. Do not hesitate and come to our University, Faculty of Education, within the framework of Socrates/Erasmus Teachers´ Mobility Program.
