The Halls of residence in Palachova Street is shared by University of Hradec Králové and Charles University. A – G entrances and a reception desk (near the Palach bus station) belong to University of Hradec Králové. The other entrances (H- CH) and the other reception desk are of Charles University.
Lodgings
There are two-room flats with a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.
A type : 3- bed rooms / 6 persons
B type : 2- bed rooms / 4 persons
Cleaning
is done by students themselves. A bathroom and a toilet is cleaned by a chambermaid once a week. The Internet is avaible in the lodgings of A and B entrances, in the other lodgings there is WiFi (wireless network) at your disposal.

Telephones
There are telephones in the lodgings of A and B entrances, there are telephones on each floor in the other entrances (C, D, E, F, G). Telephone network of the halls of residence is a part of the overall UHK telephone network so it is possible to call all the UHK offices as well as other colleges free of charge (see telephone directory attached to the receivers). For calling within UHK network it is necessary to use the line of the appropriate office (the last four numbers)
The Internet
There is the Internet available in the lodgings of A and B entrances. Consequently the price of accommodation in those flats is higher than in other flats no matter whether you use the Internet or not. C- G entrances are provided with WiFi wireless network available free of charge after agreeing to the terms of using.
ISIC card
is used for the access to the University Library as well as to residential hall premises. Students are obliged to identify themselves at a reception desk. The cards are fitted with a magnetic strip which is read by a device installed at the main entrance door. By placing the card on this device you are identified and the door is automatically opened. In case of any problems inform yourself in the accommodation office.
There are two main entrance doors (entrance A for UHK and entrance CH for Charles University) plus the entrance gate for cars and bikes. Students are allowed to use those entrances after identifying themselves by ISIC card. Any other visitors to the halls of residence are obliged to register themselves in the reception desk, entrance A (near Palachova bus station).
Key
Students use the only one key for locking their flat as well as that particular entrance. In case of a loss students pay CZK 200 and are provided with a new key. In case of any other trouble ask a receptionist for help.
Linens
Linens can be changed once a fortnight by a chambermaid on the basement of that particular entrance. Basement of the entrance A (care of entrances A, B)

If you are given damaged linens, take them back and these will be replaced by new ones.
Maintenance, repairs
All kinds of defects and failures must be announced to a chambermaid or a serviceman. If you can not reach them, turn to the receptionist. Please do not ignore defects especially of lights, sockets, toilets and taps.

Damage coused on purpose or by serious negligence will not by tolerated! Damage will be fully compensated by students having caused it.
Washing machines
Entrance C (4 washing machines) and entrance E (4 washing machines ) – driers are in the rooms. The key you can borrow at the reception desk – do not forget to bring your ISIC card! You can keep the key just for the time necessary. Then you must return it so that it is available for other students. If you repeatedly break this rule you will not be lent the key.
TV sets
You can use your own TV set as all flats are equipped with TV sockets. TV rooms are in the basement of B, C, G entrances. The key is available at the reception desk. Do not forget to bring your ISIC card.
Rooms with the piano
Entrances B, C, E, F, G (in the basement) – the key you can borrow at the reception desk – do not forget to bring your ISIC card. You can play the piano 8 am – 10 pm.
Sport and culture
Playing field for football or volleyball – the balls and cage you can borrow at the reception desk, do not forget to bring your ISIC card.
Fitness room - gym – entrance D (exercise bike, weights, muscle-conditioning equipment) – you can borrow the key at the reception desk, do not forget to bring there your ISIC card. You pay CZK 60/a month/a person
Table tennis room –entrance C (2 tennis tables) – the key you can borrow at the reception desk, do not forget to bring there your ISIC card.
