The Faculty of Arts was established on September 1, 2005 after the secession from the Faculty of Education and therefore it became the youngest and the smallest faculty of the University of Hradec Králové (UHK). Lots of opportunities had been constituted for the systematic development of the research institutions, especially for the successful long time lasting activities in historical sciences.
The Faculty of Arts consists of Institute of History, Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Department of Sociology, Department of Politology, Department of Archaeology, Department of Auxiliary Historical Sciences and Archive Sciences and Department of Foreign Languages
