University of
Hradec Králové develops scientific disciplines within the research and
teaching activities of individual faculties.
The research
activities of the Faculty of Education focus mainly on the latest
approaches to education and education process. The Faculty of Science´s
interest lies mainly in selected areas of biology, physics, as well as
mathematics, chemistry and informatics. The Faculty of Informatics and
Management research is focused on informatics and on the fields of
economy and management. Among the main research interests of the Faculty
of Arts are history and political science.
At the same
time, the University of Hradec Králové actively responds to the needs of
the region and its administrative and business sphere. The university
cooperates for example with HIT klastr (an association of regional
companies) or with the Council for Development and Innovation of the
Region of Hradec Králové. As for funding sources, the research and grant
activities are sustained mainly by the state providers, such as the
Czech Science Foundation, the Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of
the Czech Republic and individual ministries. Numerous projects are
financed by the European Union grant schemes. University research is
also supported by numerous regional institutions.
