With
the establishment of the Institute of Social Work in January 2011, the
University of Hradec Králové has completed a long-prepared mission of a
tertiary education institution consisting of five components: four
faculties and one academic institute.
Originating in
the former Department of Social Work and Social Politics (Faculty of
Education), The Institute of Social Work provides instruction in BA and
MA study programmes in the field of social politics and social work. The
courses are focused on a variety of both theoretical and practical
aspects of social work and its many specializations. The instruction of
social-work related subjects is provided for other faculties of the
university too.
Study
disciplines Social Work and Social and Charity Work within the BA study
programme are offered in the full-time form of study; study disciplines
Social Work, Social Work in Public Administration, Social Work with
Persons with Limited Self-Reliance and Social and Charity Work are
offered also in the part-time form of study. Excellent graduates of the
BA study programme are encouraged to pursue their studies in the MA
study programme Social Work. Having obtained excellent education, the
graduates of the institute will easily respond to the demand for
professionals in the areas of public administration, local
self-administration and non-profit sector.
