The Institute for Further Education (IFE) is a university department, responsible for organizing a range of paid further education courses in addition to the activities of the Faculty of Informatics and Management of UHK. The institute also offers training courses for adults in the professional and pedagogical community, businesses and their staff.
Teaching is carried out by highly qualified lecturers. Well-established training courses in computer technology, tourism, management and economics are offered. Additional programs of study include language courses and are organized across five subject areas: courses for future and existing students, courses for teachers of primary and secondary education, courses for companies and organizations, requalification courses for employment services, and adult education courses.
The IFE is an accredited testing centre for ECDL, an approved testing centre of City Guilds, which is accredited to organize internationally reputable examinations in English at all levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages formed by the Council of Europe and an accredited centre for ELSA, testing English language online. The IFE department has been accredited as Cambridge ESOL examination centre and is fully authorized to test a wide range of Cambridge ESOL exams, including computer-based tests.
There is also a wide range of DVPP trainings and Functional Studies II, accredited by the Ministry of Education. The European Business Competence* License is another example of our well-established preparatory courses culminating with certification. EBC*L certificate enhances professionalism and opportunities of participants on the labour market and is also approved abroad in the area of business economics.
The Career Development course is offered by the institute this year as well. The course was designed as a program of lifelong learning. The basic programme is aimed at applicants of bachelor studies or anyone who desires to improve his/her knowledge in tutored fields - Management of Leisure and Tourism and Financial Management.
